My real name is John Borland. I play guitar and sing at local bars on Long Island and in Manhattan. I was the lead singer for the hard edged alternative rock band Sons Of Elvis just a couple of years ago. We released a cd with Priority Records in L.A. as well as a video for the single Formaldehyde which was aired moderately on MTV and played on alternative stations across the country .That same song was used in the movie Higher Learning. Well enough bragging, Now I am playing covers in local bars..pathetic! Not really. I am a school teacher now who just moved from Manhattan to Long Island in Oct. and and actually love music and just play to have fun( and the extra money isn't bad) So check me out if you are in the neighborhood or drop me a line for more info

• Summer is nearly upon us and for me that means heading over to Ocean Bay Park to spend the summer at the beach. I will be playing my guitar and singing tuesdays thru fridays at the bay front outside bar of The Schooner Inn. Sunday nights are always a good time for the staff of the local bars and restaraunts to relax and let loose after a busy weekend and I play a late night show at The Schooner that is always a blast.I am looking foward to seeing all the regulars and old friends. I can't wait for summer.(Since my fiance Bridgette and I will be married on July 10th this will be my first summer as a married man oooohh. Look for the big party that night at Our house)
